He lived in the 17th century after Christ. Spinoza was a rationalist pantheist philosopher. Pantheism is an Eastern religion present in Hinduism and other religions, which believes that God and the universe are not separate, but rather together; that God is everything, and everything is God. That is, nature is God, just as many things are God. For Spinoza, God was synonymous with nature.

Spinoza did not believe that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, known as the Pentateuch by Christians or the Torah by Jews. Furthermore, Spinoza was such a rationalist—what we call an unlimited rationalist—that he also did not believe in miracles. He was what we call an anti-supernaturalist.
